Subway station advertisement:

Interview:

In the history of immigration in the United States, there has always been a problem of racial discrimination. This time I interviewed my friend Yuntao Zhang. As an Asian immigrant, I wonder if he has experienced discrimination and what he thinks about this type of discrimination.

My issue is the assimilation of immigrants in the United States. It is matter because immigrants from all over the world build the United States. They are the primary contributors to the US economy. Because of the worse situation of immigrants, including their financial struggle, Unequal treatment at workplaces, discriminations on the street, etc. My purpose of highlighting this issue is to inform people that how important those immigrants are, and they deserve the same rights as everybody else. The potential audiences of my issue are the people who have The bias against the immigrants, and those immigrants who have been unequal treated. I want those bias people to know they are wrong, and there is no difference between the immigrants and other American citizens. Also, I want the immigrants to speak out, fight For their rights.

The potential genres I want to use is advertisements at train stations and an interview of people who experienced discrimination — the reason why I chose to put my poster at train stat. The ions are that most of the immigrants are poor, they have to take trains every day. When they pass by or waiting for the trains, they will see my flyer or slogan. The interviews of the people, who have experienced discrimination or Secondly, it can show how hard the immigrants have been through to never it. Also, it can help to get support from the non-immigrant citizens.

Over time, I believe more and more people will see my subway station ads or interviews. Immigrants who have any problems with their salary can contact my listed organizations for help through my subway station advertisement. Since I live in Chinatown, there are many advertisements for Chinese lawyers here about solve various economic disputes at work, including not paying wages on time, with less or lower than average salaries. This inspired my subway advertisement. The interview was inspired by a survey I did in high school. The topic at the time was about the other, but I think it is important to know other people’s opinions or experiences on this topic through interviews.

I have learned that many immigrants in the United States are receiving discrimination, but at the same time, many organizations can help them solve the unequal treatment received by immigrants through legal means. I learned this in my investigation of how to solve the problem of immigrants’ wages. At the same time, I also learned how to interview others and get answers to critical questions.
